Cedar Avenue - Running Home

This four song EP from Minneapolis, Minnesota band, Cedar Avenue, showcases a band with great potential. All the songs are slower, softer, and acoustic. What I love about this band are the lyrics and the music composition. All the notes are expertly placed to give you four amazingly written songs that each has its own little charm. Singers Jesse and Derrin's vocals blend so well, and the harmony is nearly perfect. This isn't music you'd want to listen to while driving a car or after a bad break up as they will most likely just make you fall asleep or become more depressed.

The one thing I wasn't really digging about the band was that they have that Christian worship music feel, but I won't let that take away from the rating I'll give. The band also has their whole songs available for free listen. The four songs on the album are titled "Running Home", "Cheers", "Illusion", and "Derrin Song". You can hear all the tracks off the album and also an additional song, "After All", from their myspace page and purevolume pages. I will have to admit though that my personal favorite song by this band is the one that isn't even on the album. Listening to "After All" will completely justify everything I said previously about the band.

I think that I could honestly give this album 4 out of 5 stars
